About My Style

My Why

I love helping students "get" math. Whether it's a difficult new concept or a history of discouraging results, I want to help students become more confident in their math ability. There are multiple ways to solve math problems, and I encourage students to discover methods they're comfortable with so they can thrive in their math classes.

My How

One of my greatest strengths as a math tutor is the ability to find a trouble spot and formulate similar problems (that can be solved!) on the fly, then ramp them up as necessary. Additionally, I know (or can quickly figure out) what the textbook is trying to do, what it assumes, and what it skips over. The result is that I can help fill in blanks you or your child didn't even know existed and illuminate connections to what is already known and to what is yet to be learned. But the best indicator of my success is that I've had students so confident after our work that they've been able to explain it to their classmates.

My Goal

Whether it's for a session or for a semester, let me help you or your child feel confident about math!
